Tennis is offered at Cheltenham several times a week for social and family tennis. The tennis section encourages prospective social players to come along to be assessed for their standard of play and to discuss a variety of playing options.
Playing times for social tennis are:
Saturday 1pm – 5 pm • Mixed Doubles
Sunday 12 noon – 5 pm • Mixed Doubles
Tuesday 9:30am – 12:30pm • Ladies Doubles
Wednesday 12 noon – 5pm • Mixed Doubles
Thursday 9:30am – 12:30 • Ladies Doubles
Friday 9am – 12 noon • Doubles (Including Mixed)
Family Afternoons
Courts are usually available on Sunday afternoons after 1 pm for family play. An adult can join the CRC and play with their spouse and/or children for $15.00 during the available times. Courts can be rented on the day from the court captain in the green tennis shed near Court 2.

The tennis section usually enters teams each year in the Sydney Badge competition.
The Saturday matches are played either at home at Cheltenham or away at various courts around Sydney. Play can start at 11:30 am with lunch to follow or from 2:20pm to 5pm with afternoon refreshments afterwards.
Competition players need to be members of the Cheltenham Recreation Club Tennis Section.
Players can nominate for Badge individually or as a team with the minimum being five players per team and the maximum being ten players.
All fee must be paid prior to the person and teams nominating.
The club always enters the Autumn Badge competition normally played from late March/early April until August. It may also enter the Spring Badge held later each year.

Various string reels and sets (all brands)
Various grips (over grips/replacement grips)
Cans of balls (whatever stock we have left)
Various other accessories

The club offers a range of possible tennis membership options:
Unrestricted Membership
This entitles a player to play on all the days social tennis is offered and they may also apply to join a Badge team.
Restricted Membership
This entitles a player to play on one nominated day of social tennis and they may also apply to join a Badge team.
Family Membership
A person and their spouse/partner can both join as restricted members, and their children under eighteen can play on family afternoons with them free of charge.
18-25 Student Membership
A reduced rate is offered to persons attending tertiary studies full-time.
Under 18 Membership
A reduced rate is offered for those under the age of 18.
Introductory Members
Introductory members pay a $25.00 membership fee (annual) and $15.00 each time they play.
